Šuklje
The first records of the family's wine tradition date back to 1895, when Matija Šuklje received a loan of 140 Guldens to restore the vineyard after its devastation by the phylloxera louse. From this period onwards, the winemaking tradition on the farm has been passed down from generation to generation. Today, the estate is run by the sixth and seventh generations of the Šuklje family.

On the nose, the wine opens on spicy notes of black pepper and cloves, with dark berry fruit undertones and a hint of varietal dried herbs character. The palate is medium to full-bodied with a vibrant backbone and silky tannin structure filling your mouth. A modern, elegant and drinkable Blaufränkisch. Drink from 2020 to 2028.The grapes for Lodoma are harvested from the vineyards of Lokvica and Doma, where we carefully monitor the yield. The grapes were hand-harvested into 15-pound crates. After a 20-day maceration and after pressing into stainless steel tank to ensure that ferments are dry and to perform malolactic fermentation, the wine matured for 10 months in 2 and 3 year old 225 liter barrique barrels. The wine is not filtered.

The nose is complex and subtle with aromas reminiscent of white flowers, wild bushes and fruity notes of peach and fresh apricot. The mouthfeel is round, velvety with a fresh and lingering finish giving a long and vertical after taste. Kerner in acacia brings roundness, generosity, yellow fruit and floral character. Riesling brings vibrancy, freshness and complexity. Drink from now to 2025.The philosophy here is to craft a modern white wine with a Burgundy like balance made from the varieties we inherited. Grapes for this blend are collected at full maturity, golden yellow. Blend is composed of 80% Kerner (a cross between Riesling and Trollinger), and Riesling (20%). Kerner juice was barrel fermented in acacia wood (300L and 500 L, 3rd fill) and kept on gross lees for 8 months. Riesling (20%) was tank fermented and also kept on gross lees for the same amount of time before blending.Contains sulfite.Dry and warm summer season clearly drove the characteristic of the vintage and final wine style with low yields (up to 30% lower as usual) resulted in rich and concentrated wines greatly balanced by refreshing acidity thanks to the cold conditions in September.

Wine is driven by citrusy, grapefruit and dried herbs characters with underlying tones of passionfruit and ripe mango. The mouthfeel is round, full, creamy and the mid-palate is lifted by a refreshing acidity followed by a lingering finish. Pure expression of Sauvignon blanc from Lozice terroir. This wine is full bodied, complex and enjoyable. Drink from now to 2025.Single vineyard wine. Grapes were destemmed, crushed and cold soaked for 24 h at 10 °C before pressing and settling. Spontaneous fermentations took place in combination of new and used barrique barrels as well as 15% in stainless steel tank. Wine was aged on gross lees for 6 months in barrels and thereafter for another 3 months in stainless steel tank before being racked, fined, roughly filtered and bottled.

Vrbanjka 2017 shows depth and density with complex aromas going from spicy notes of white pepper and nutmeg to fruity aromas reminiscent of raspberry, blueberry, blackberry and underlying hints of dried herbs. The palate is full-bodied, deep and fresh at the same time with a very long finish. Tannins are still quite firm but the wine is already enjoyable. Elegance, complexity, power, finesse and freshness in the glass. It is a wine built for a long ageing. Drink between 2020 and 2032.Single vineyard wine. Grapes for this wine are harvested only from the steepest part of the vineyard, where the growth is regulated by poor, dry stony/marly soils with high proportion of limestone. Poor growing conditions results in small berries, small bunches and low yields what in turn brings concentration and complexity to the wines. Grapes are hand harvested in 15 kg crates, destemmed and whole berry fermented in open vats with 25 days of skin contact. After pressing into stainless steel tank to ensure that ferments are dry and to perform malolactic fermentation, the wine is kept in a second fill French oak barrique barrels and 500 l barrels for 12 months. Wine is not filtered nor fined.Contains sulfites.
