Southern exposure. Top of the hill. Sun thoughout the day. Very rocky and opoka terrain, never lacks water. Planted 1980.Deeper golden-yellow colour with a pleasant shine. A gentle yet broad bouquet, rather aromatic on the nose for Rebula – just perfectly enough. Intertwining notes of dry grass, dry herbs, toast, hints of caramel, evenbuer. The sensations appear harmonious, compact.Dry on the palate, medium body, with a nice degree of mature acidity creating a stirring contrast in the mouth. The texture is somewhat oily, and the wine appears subdued and rich despite the full ripeness of the grapes. Intense on the palate, perpetually exciting the taste buds, long, crisp and clear finish. A firm Rebula destined for haute cuisine.

Its aromas are intense, luscious. Already when pouring, we notice the intensity of ripe black berries, black cherries, plums, black olives, and mulberries, then it reveals hints of dried red roses, which are soon joined by notes of long maturing in barrels. Scents of chocolate, ground coffee, carob, cloves, licorice and notes of smoke are expressed. Finishing strongly with hints of leather and humus.It feels dry, soft and has well-incorporated alcohols. At the same time, it refreshes us, the tannins work smoothly, and we also notice minerality and a wonderful umami finish. A wine that has so much softness that balances the taste, but at the same time indicates a long potential for ageing. A wine of intensity, lasting permanence and expressed, noble elegance, nicely accentuated by his vigorous body.

This wine has an intense amber colour with a slight greenish tint. Varied aroma offers a mixture of dried fruits (apricots, figs, raisins) and dried herbs, which are complemented with honey, caramel and almonds wrapped in a note of smoke. Notes of dried fruits are caught in a slightly oily texture and are continued in a slightly spicy aftertaste. Lively but mature acidity is nicely complemented with residual sugar and gives the wineits pleasant freshness.What happened in 1974?After the excellent harvest of 1971, it was not until 1974 that another archive wine was produced. Despite this, the 1974 Furmint Trocken Beeren Auslese, not of a classic vintage, stood out as a truly exceptional wine.
