The " Corton " are grand crus from the commune of Aloxe Corton - North of the Côte de Beaune - and are located on the famous " Rognon de Corton ". More than half of the surface of the vineyard of Aloxe Corton is planted in Grand Cru, which is exceptional in Burgundy. The exposure varies between South and South West.
The grapes are harvested by hand in small crates in order to preserve the integrity of the fruit. The grapes are then carefully sorted by hand and destemmed. Maceration of the grapes takes place in open wooden or stainless steel vats for 3 to 4 weeks. The vats are pumped over twice a day during the fermentation. The wine is aged for about 18 months in barrels from our cooperage, of which about a third are new.
Deep, rich and spicy, this red evokes a pleasant earthiness underlying cherry and strawberry fruit. Firm tannins support the long finish, while the whole is harmonious and complex. Fresh and juicy finish.
