Nikka uses two Coffey distillation boilers (named after its founder, Irishman Aeneas Coffey) at its Miyagikyo distillery. The boilers were imported from Scotland in 1963 and it is these boilers that give more flavor than modern grain whiskey boilers.
The whiskey is a deep golden color, on the nose it is sweet with a hint of mango, papaya and orange peel. We notice notes of cinnamon, coconut and popcorn. The mouth is full of caramel popcorn flavor, with a hint of citrus and tropical fruits. Whiskey is full-bodied with a not-so-long aftertaste, dominated by rich oak and jam.

The release of the CO2 in the mouth is pleasant and refreshing. The taste is balanced, harmonious, with a delicate aroma of raspberries, currants and strawberries. It calls for another glass after just one sip. Delicate, a fine bouquet of red fruit, dried fruit and toast.

Barolo Riserva Cannubi “1752” has been produced since harvest 2008, when Damilano family decided to enhance the historic core of Cannubi vineyard located in the highest and most central part of the hill.It is a small portion of about 2 hectares planted with Nebbiolo vines which today are between 50 and 70 years old . “1752” is conceived as a Reserve starting from the harvest. Very few bottles produced in an elegant “vintage” packaging to underline the culture, tradition and wisdom of a land that the world envies to the Langhe: Cannubi.
