Bosnia and Herzegovina
Bosnia produces little wine, as tradition and natural conditions are more favourable to the vine in the rockier Herzegovina, where 90% of all the wine produced in Bosnia in Herzegovina comes from. The red blatina as well as the white žilavka are both indigenous varieties that thrive there and have been a pillar of winemaking along the Neretva River for centuries. The white žilavka is the most notable variety of Bosnia and Herzegovina that produces well-balanced and full-bodied wines.
